In the past, I have only enjoyed reading fiction books. I have never been fond of non-fiction or biography books as I found them to be long and boring. I love to engage in a story that is not real and will divert my reality into a imaginary state. I chose this non-fiction book because it seemed very interesting to me, at first, when I scanned the cover and a few pages. The very title, Driving while Black, led me to continue reading the book even before deciding to commit to it. I also chose this non-fiction novel because I wanted to learn more about the laws concerning black drivers and learn from the experiences that others faced.
This book does not fit my previous/ past reading preferences because in the past, I wouldn't have chosen a non-fiction book to read and if I did, I would have chosen one with less information and one that is easy-to-read. In this book, i'll be looking for more a more interesting story and one that will impact my life in the future. I want to better my understanding of real events so that I will become wiser instead of always reading books that are not based on real events.
